If you are interested in connecting with St. Louis area residents:
INTAKE INTERVIEWERS conduct interviews of individuals and families to get the information needed to prepare tax returns.
If you like putting numbers and letters into boxes and are comfortable working on a computer:
PREPARERS prepare the tax returns using TaxSlayer software.
If you have an extensive history of tax preparation / are an Enrolled Agent / have a CPA license:
REVIEWERS review returns completed by preparers to ensure a quality TAP product.
If you are friendly and welcoming:
GREETERS welcome clients and explain the tax prep process. They also assist with making sure the client is ready for the interview.
If you are neat, organized, and like to “tick and tie”:
ASSEMBLERS organize client packets and assemble tax returns.
Annual Tax Law Certification Training is REQUIRED for Intake Interviewers, Preparers and Reviewers
Training will be held from 8am to 5pm on Saturday, January 14 and Saturday, January 21 at the UMSL Computer Education & Training Center, 12837 Flushing Meadows, St. Louis 63131 (around I-270 & Manchester, click HERE). NEW volunteers should plan to attend one of these training sessions.
